Pt 3 – Boost Your Success Mindset
Welcome to the third and last part of our series. This is where the rubber actually meets the road. In this post, we’ll cover the actual “how to” of the great motivational and mind-training tool I’ve been leading up to with all of this.
NOW … here is the one little tip that I invite you to practice for one year on a daily basis that I GUARANTEE will literally change your life by changing your mind..
Specifically Prioritize Your Strategic Business Plan
What we need to do now is to prioritize your Strategic Business Plan in a very specific way. You’re going to be taking your plan and from it you will make another list. This list will be prioritized into 3 Specific Categories:
1 – Things To Be Accomplished Within The Next 30 Days.
2 – Things To Be Accomplished Within The Next 90 Days.
3 – Things To Be Accomplished Within The Next 6 Months.
Have those three headings on your list, and take the items from your Strategic Business Plan and insert them under the appropriate heading according to their completion time-line.
Now … prioritize, honestly, the items from your plan as they appear under these three headings. In other words, under the 30 Day Time-Frame heading, put the item that’s truly most important first, the second in spot number two, etc. Be HONEST about this in the sense of importance … not what is easiest. Which one NEEDS to be done first is the way this should be approached.
Then … do the same for all three categories.
Now, once that’s done, we’re going to put this prioritized list aside for a moment and go on.
Frame Your Daily Checklist Within Your Strategic Business Plan
Remember that prioritized list of items we just created from our Strategic Business Plan? Well, it’s time to grab that now.
Now we’re going to customize our Daily Checklist to include the most important and highly-prioritized items from our Strategic Business plan right into the same document. To do that, I’ve created a template for you. To download that customizable template, simply use the link below, and then follow along for the explanation on how to use it.
You’ll notice that, at the top of the document, before the numbered items of your daily activity begins, you are going to insert Items “A”, “B”, and “C”. These are part of the template and what you insert will not change daily.
These items will be taken from the list you just made from your Strategic Business Plan, and they will be listed in this way:
A: The most important item from your 30 day time frame.
B: The most important item from your 90 day time frame.
C: The most important item from your 6 month time frame.
These will be printed daily displaying at the top of your daily checklist. Below them will come a numbered list that you will fill out on a daily basis, but these three at the top will remain the same. They will serve as reminders of what the daily items are meant to accomplish.
The first item from the top part of your list to be accomplished will be Item “A”. When that happens you can remove it from the Checklist Template. At that point, it’s a great opportunity to re-visit and update your Strategic Business Plan … re-prioritize and re-list … and re-do your Daily Checklist template.
You do see the power of this, don’t you?
I knew you would, because it’s obvious! You are incorporating your short, mid, and long-term objectives … those you’ve decided on through creating your Mission Statement and your Strategic Business Plan … with your Daily Checklist … so that ALL OF THEM WORK TOGETHER, constantly working to help keep you focused on doing JUST THE NEXT STEP … but, also keeping your “whys” and “hows” right there in front of you all the time.
That’s It! You’ve got it!
Now, all you have to do is to “wash, rinse, and repeat”.
At the beginning of this series, I made you a promise. I’d like to re-iterate that here. I promise and guarantee you that if you will create your Mission Statement, and your Strategic Business Plan … use them as described and combine them in this way with your Daily Checklist … you will set in motion a chain of events that will create and nurture within you a true Success Mindset. It’s inevitable.
From this activity, your thoughts will begin to change, as your focus is constantly directed to what you actually want … not what you fear and don’t want. Every single time you begin to fall victim to being “overwhelmed”, or “losing focus” … both of which stem from fear of loss … you will find yourself being re-energized, re-motivated, and re-focused on what you DO want … and WHY you want it … and HOW you’re going to get it. You’ll automatically find yourself asking for what you want by doing the things you need to do to achieve what you want … and you’ll do those things easily, happily, and you’ll get more done in less time and with less effort than you ever thought possible.
So … I’ve given you a lot of good information here, haven’t I?
